"No one's ever been so good at being so bad."

Overview:
Killing Fields director Roland Joffé - whose only previous foray into comedy was the unintentionally funny The Scarlet Letter - tries to make this revenge comedy amusing but fails. In the end, it's saved by the performances of Don Johnson and Ellen DeGeneres. Johnson plays the rich businessman who's pushed over a balcony by his useless brother (Dermot Mulroney) and the sister-in-law (Patricia Arquette) with whom he was having an affair. DeGeneres's nosey cop gets the only good lines and delivers them with aplomb, but neither she nor the still-suave Johnson can force a convincing resolution to the twisting tale.
