Rich, naive finishing school pupil Virginia Radcliff is drawn astray by her fellow students, accompanying them on a surreptitious trip to the big city. While there, she begins to fall for the industrious charms of Ralph, a struggling medical student who spends his nights working as a porter at a hotel. While the pair soon find themselves in love, their romance causes outrage for Virginia's prim and proper headmistress, and embarrassment for her mother.
