Cleverly expanded from Peter Dawson's 1956 short story Long Gone and particularly well directed by Paul Wendkos, this intriguing minor western stars Fred MacMurray as a bank robber trying to shake off his past and settle down in a new town. MacMurray is a shade too old and staid for his role (and, besides, his toupee never really convinces), but watch out for then-newcomer James Coburn, who takes over the screen every time he appears. Wendkos made a number of highly regarded low-budget films around this period before basing his career in television.

A man who was falsly accused for murder escapes the sheriffs and starts a new life in a town at the border of the States to Mexico. But he cannot settle in peace as his chasers are trying to find him.
