"A weekend by the lake, with views to die for."
- Director: James Watkins
- Genre: Mystery & Suspense, Horror,
- Studio: Rollercoaster Films
- Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 115 Mins
|
Overview:
This debut feature from director James Watkins gives a distinctively British twist to the staple American horror plot of a couple wandering off into the woods and falling foul of a bunch of crazies. Set fairly and squarely in Middle England, the movie pits canoodling couple Michael Fassbender and Kelly Reilly not against backwoods throwbacks, but feral kids from a nearby town who violently interrupt the pair's camping weekend. And, if you think the kids are bad, wait until you meet the parents! A film about teen violence and youths with knives is bound to attract controversy, and many will deplore the film's graphic gore, especially in such a near-the-knuckle context. Fright fans, though, will applaud this fresh take on a hoary old horror plot.
