Overview:
Ryan Reynolds needs every ounce of his considerable charm in this long-winded and lethargic romantic comedy from the producers of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Wimbledon. Reynolds plays a New York advertising executive who, on the eve of his divorce, is asked by his precocious ten-year-old (Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin) to tell all about his love life before his marriage. So, in one of those scenarios beloved of Hollywood movies, he decides to spill the beans about his three serious girlfriends, but alters their names in the process. We have to guess which girl dad actually married: was it girl-next-door Emily (Elizabeth Banks); best buddy and co-worker April (Isla Fisher); or free spirit Summer (Rachel Weisz)? As the seemingly interminable series of flashbacks and flash-forwards unfolds, you may find it hard to care.
