With any remaining shred of political subtlety erased by the appallingly exploitative Death Wish II, director Michael Winner continues his freelance vigilante saga in ludicrously over-the-top mode. This time a pack of punks and gay Hell's Angels terrorises a Manhattan apartment block. Because the impotent police do nothing as usual except bust Paul Kersey (the ever-laconic Charles Bronson) by mistake, the rebel with neighbourly applause resumes his gun-toting/grenade-launching ways to dispense the kind of justice that this type of broadly etched ghetto scum understand. Ridiculous and revolting.

Architect/vigilante Paul Kersey arrives back in New York City and is forcibly recruited by a crooked police chief to fight street crime caused by a large gang terrorizing the neighborhoods.
