This minor-league festive offering would have probably gone unnoticed had it not contained one of Patrick Swayze's final performances. Not that he's really the star attraction here, as it's the kids who take centre stage in a caper that relocates Miracle on 34th Street and Home Alone to a super-sized shopping mall. High jinks of an all-too predictable nature ensue when Swayze's jobless parent is tasked with carrying out the Christmas shopping with his three children in tow, leading to the discovery of a bag of counterfeit cash and a run in with three bumbling crooks and some overeager cops. The mild cynicism injected by bad guy Chris Kattan and middle sibling Matthew Knight offers some respite from the formulaic action, but Swayze is given little to work with as the bewildered dad, while Tim Curry's shameless turn as a Royal Mountie with an inexplicable Scot's accent is sheer panto excess.
