This caravan version of Carry On Camping marked the beginning of the end for the classic comedy series. Sid James and scriptwriter Talbot Rothwell (who'd notched up 20 Carry On credits) are missing, and regulars Bernard Bresslaw, Kenneth Connor and Joan Sims are restricted to supporting roles. Penned by series newcomer Dave Freeman, this woeful effort attempts to combine caravan-holiday capers and archaeological high jinks. The only fragments of fun come from Kenneth Williams and Elke Sommer as relic hunters on a dig - pity they couldn't have unearthed a decent script.

Professors Vooshka and Crump decide to visit an archaeological site to study the artifacts there. Lo and behold, it's right next to a caravan site where all manner of people are staying. With a randy Major owning the site, a snobbish mother, and the two professors' constant innuendos, the story ends with a sinking caravan site and a striptease performance as a replacement for the cabaret night.
