After a few years in the wilderness following flops such as The Golden Child and Harlem Nights, Eddie Murphy returned with this amiable if slightly overlong battle-of-the-sexes comedy from House Party director Reginald Hudlin. Murphy is on form as the womaniser who gets his comeuppance when he tries his smooth-talking ways on canny Robin Givens (the former Mrs Mike Tyson), who turns the tables when she treats him as a sex object, but it is the supporting performances that really give the film a buzz. Grace Jones is, well, Grace Jones, playing a demanding supermodel with a penchant for removing her knickers in public, while Eartha Kitt is a scream as the ageing nymphomaniac with designs on Murphy's behind.

Marcus is a successful advertising executive who woos and beds women almost at will. After a company merger he finds that his new boss, the ravishing Jacqueline, is treating him in exactly the same way. Completely traumatised by this, his work goes badly downhill.
