- Studio: Daniel Bobker Productions
- Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 110 Mins

Overview:
Playing like a watered-down version of the same producers' Underworld, director Katja von Garnier's fantasy horror spin on Romeo and Juliet is a clumsily and radically altered adaptation of Annette Curtis Klause's immensely popular novel for young adults. Tradition dictates that werewolf Agnes Bruckner must mate with Olivier Martinez, the leader of her Romanian pack. But instead she falls for human comic-book artist Hugh Dancy, who's researching her lycanthropic kind for his latest graphic novel. And so the stage is set for silly romantic montages scored with schmaltzy music, derivative action and slapdash special effects. No impressive transformations here - the hunks merely "blur" into real wolves. Handsomely shot Bucharest backdrops add to the deliberately styled rock-video atmosphere, but von Garnier is more interested in focusing on sinister but inconsequential detail than exploring the book's grandiose themes of sexuality and monstrousness. With its darker elements tamed, this bland and saccharine mess is unlikely to please anyone.
