Despite culling ideas from Planet of the Apes, The Day the Earth Stood Still and Romeo and Juliet, this preachy animation parable remains resolutely dull and lifeless. After depleting Earth's resources, and obliterating the planet during a war with colonised Mars and Venus, mankind's survivors target Terra as their new home. The relationship between an alien (voiced by Evan Rachel Wood) and a human space-station pilot (Luke Wilson) becomes the key to preventing the intergalactic holocaust proposed by a military madman (Brian Cox). The 3-D texturing only throws into sharp relief the lack of depth in the simplistic graphic style and tired alien colonisation metaphors, and the bland overall design soon becomes visually wearing. Very young children may accept the poorly paced antics, but anyone else will rapidly lose patience.

A peaceful alien planet faces annihilation, as the homeless remainder of the human race sets its eyes on Terra. Mala, a rebellious Terrian teenager, will do everything she can to stop it.
