There's very little to raise the temperature in this comedy western about an attempt to blow up a Mexican arms arsenal for revolutionary reasons. The bizarre casting of Lee Van Cleef and James Mason as rivals for the affection of scheming Gina Lollobrigida doesn't help this Italian/Spanish/French co-production, and neither does the freeze-frame trickery of director Gene (Eugenio) Martin.
