All the family clichés are included in this manipulative festive tale in which warring sisters Tracey Needham and Natasha Gregson Wagner are forced to reunite by their sick, widowed father's wish for a traditional Christmas at home. So far so routine... until a miracle delivers an unexpected visitor who sends the film's sentimentality levels shooting off the scale. It's a horribly contrived way to get to the predictable "everything's OK" ending, and unsurprisingly the mix of drama and supernatural fantasy really doesn't gel. The plot holes pile up as quickly as the life lessons, prompting director Georg Stanford Brown to launch a distracting final strike of emotion that will either touch your heart or turn your stomach.
