A butcher's bumbling assistant causes no end of accidents at work, the latest of which has landed his boss in hospital. While visiting, he meets a little girl who has not spoken since her parents died, and resolves to put a smile on the orphan's face. An accident in the butchers shop leads Norman Pitkin and Mr Grimsdale to the hospital where, after causing the normal amount of chaos, Pitkin finds Lindy, a little girl who hasn't spoken or smiled since her parents were killed in an aeroplane accident. Pitkin decides to help.
